10.29.08 .:. Prometheus Burning joins the Crunch Pod roster!
Crunch Pod is happy to announce that we'll be releasing the next album from Prometheus Burning, "Plague Called HuMANity" in February 2009.
Prometheus Burning is a female fronted, genre-bending Electro-Industrial band, focusing on experimental vocal structures, intricately layered synthlines, complex rhythms, dark atmospherics, junkyard percussion, and glitched out electronic noise.
The pair have been experimenting with sound together since 1999, eventually giving birth to Prometheus Burning in 2001. Inspired by the early Industrial acts of their youth such as Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Download, Psychic TV, Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Frontline Assembly, and the glory days of Wax Trax, they set out to create an emotional, experimental, and harsh sound true to the roots of Industrial, yet innovative and expressive enough to push the envelope in a post-Industrial music era.
Their "cut-n-paste" Burroughs inspired lyrical style and use of obscure sound samples are cryptic but coherent, painting pictures in the minds eye of their listeners. Every song seems to contain a story, a clue, a piece of a much larger puzzle, often containing references to the occult, chaos magick, transhumanistic philosophy, and cyberpunk ideals.
Sharing the stage with the likes of Xanopticon, Abelcain, Terrorfakt, Needle Sharing, Scrap.Edx, Mono No Aware, and many other experimental artists, Prometheus Burning has proven they are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to live performances. Never giving the same show twice, it is always a deafening and dramatic experience when they step on stage armed with a barrage of computers, keyboards, theremins, circuit bent electronics, and other unusual devices.

10.01.08 .:. Alter Der Ruine Announce New Album + U.S. Tour Supporting Nachtmahr!
Alter Der Ruine is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their third album, "Giants From Far Away", which will serve as their debut release here on Crunch Pod.
The album, set to officially release on November 18th, will be available via pre-order from Crunch Pod soon - and will be available for purchase on Alter Der Ruine's upcoming U.S. tour in support of Trisol/Vendetta recording artist Nachtmahr.
Here is what ADR have to say about this upcoming album:
He was birthed upon a frozen shore. Neither a mother nor father was ever known and if he had one, they surely wouldn?t have owned up to their spawning skills upon recognizing their child trophy. He wasn?t a sickly creature but rather a curious one, one versed in silence with a keen ear for details of plunder and misfortune. These silent skills shaped him over the years, forging a soul blacker than polished onyx with rough scars and worn skin to accompany his treasureless heart.
Many moons passed, and the boy became a man. From the very start of his adulthood, it was glaringly apparent that he possessed an acute ability to charm the opposite sex and to a lesser but still quite breathless extent, eyes from his same gender. His brute strength and raw sex appeal served as his metaphoric wings, wings which flapped him around the world many times over. His restless heels would barely cool before another whirlwind erotic escapade would whisk him off to another exciting destination filled with sex, violence and life lessons.
One night, he finds himself in a winter kissed mountain village. He had lived through many a frozen night, but something in the air told him this was not the same as it was before. In fact, it was not the same at all. Love had found its way to his heart earlier in the night by way of the blacksmith?s beautiful daughter. They had consumed half a pot of stewed peaches when she felt wary and rose to her feet to return home. He quashed his feelings for her knowing he?d only bring her pain, and he thought it the justified position until she returned to him about an hour later drenched in the blood of her family. She spoke quickly of beasts from the hills, savage godless creatures existing only for blood and chaos. She screamed for his help knowing of all the strangers to ever wander through her village that he was the strangest. And hands down, the strongest.
She attempted to force a sword into his hands. He explained that his hands were far more lethal than fire and steel combined and that to slow them would do no good. Seconds into elaborating on this fact, a scream arose from the center of the village. With it came howls of something not human, something to be feared, something the night was created for. For if it were seen in the light of day, terror would run rampant in the hearts of all mankind forever.
He kissed her on the knuckles and sighed a sigh of a man anticipating violence. He could run. In fact, he wondered if she even cared about him or rather chose him for being a highly expendable figure in her village. Either way it was too late, and his heart was finally starting to warm after all the years. With this new energy, he raised his fist towards the air and made a plea to the heavens to bring the dawn. And with that, he cupped his hands to his jaw and let out a cry to the giants from far away.
Follow the adventures of our singular hero along with Alter Der Ruine, who provides the soundtrack to this robust tale. It is an album steeped in amazing imagery, beautiful production and a boundless imagination for things far too epic to be considered. Do you dare shield your ears?
Alter Der Ruine sets the bar high for themselves with their new CD "Giants From Far Away". They?ve pulled a lot of different influences into the mix to create an album unlike anything else they?ve done to date. It?s crammed with enough electronics to make the dancefloor happy, as well as generous genre forays to keep a keen listener amused. With elements of electro, industrial, IDM, hardcore and even black metal, Giants From Far Away sets out to be something more than just another album. And it could quite possibly be that something with enough personality to be your new audio best friend.

08.13.08 .:. Manufactura announces 2CD release + exclusive show!
Manufactura is excited to announce a new double CD album called "Psychogenic Fugue + A Damaged Symphony for Depraved Dementia N.2" set for release in late August of 2008.
After many highly acclaimed and successful releases, Manufactura returns with what can only be considered as its most ambitious album release to date, "Psychogenic Fugue". Once again Karloz.M takes a myriad of musical genres, destroys all of them and makes a new, sometimes shocking, sometimes soothing, and always brooding yet powerful, distinctive and very difficult to describe style of his own. Implementing a more vocal experimentation with various styles that are both haunting and deep-felt, it certainly holds many surprises for the listener. Fusing new sounds and noises with raw, violent, quiet and emotional concepts almost seamlessly has now become a Manufactura trademark and masterfully displayed on this release. The sheer size, scope and reach of this uninhibited work of art, makes it Manufactura's most endearing and accessible as well. A long time staple in many dance club, experimental & electronic music play lists from DJ's around the world, Manufactura now expands to a wider multitude of various tastes.
To commemorate 10 years of Manufactura since the inception of recorded material, to express gratitude and to appease its most ferocious fans, a second disc titled "A Damaged Symphony for Depraved Dementia N.2: Regression through Precognitive Dissonance" will be available along with the new album as a limited edition double album. Only 1,000 copies of this double disc will be made available with complete and exclusive artwork, lyrics, photography and design, all specifically created by Karloz.M himself. The second disc should be considered as entirely NEW material, it is a complete reworking, production and redesign of several tracks featured on the first 2 albums released by Manufactura, which are now both out of print. These new versions of the now classic material can be described as "fraternal twins" of the originals, the other side of the coins. Diehard fans can rest assured to be pleased and surprised by these new interpretations and brand new material from this electro-industrial project many now consider a legend in the field.
In addition, Manufactura will be presenting a special release party for this double album at special event in Hollywood, CA @ Klub Terminal. At this event, Manufactura will be doing a special "vs. set" with Metropolis and Industrial Strength recording artists Terrorfakt. Also featured at this event will be a vs. set between Hymen Records artists Tonikom & Marching Dynamics as well as a special live vs. set between Rugitus Aeternam & Noiz + Zilenth.
More information on this show can be obtained at the Klub Terminal MySpace page.
06.17.08 .:. Crunch Pod Signs [syndika:zero]!
Sacramento, California's [syndika:zero] crashed into the industrial scene in late 2006. Headed up by L1f3g1v3r, [syndika:zero] rose from the ashes of his previous project Victim: 1313 to produce their own brand of hard-nosed electro and idm that has been affectionately described as "Being pistol-whipped while a broken transistor radio plays Sinatra EXTREMELY loud".
Earlier this year, S:Z self-released their powerhouse debut "The Example". Combining the hard edge of the likes of Terrorfakt with the controlled mechanical rhythms of Haujobb and adding hardcore stylized vocals, "The Example" is quickly making a name for S:Z and bringing them tons of new fans. S:Z has also hit the road performing all over the United States in support of their debut. In March of 2008 they played the acclaimed Blacksun Festival alongside such artist as Assemblage 23, Cesium 137, Seabound, and Alter Der Ruine, and will soon be opening for Accessory on select dates of their west coast United States tour.
As they round out the Crunch Pod roster, S:Z will be releasing their label debut in early 2009. What you can expect is an album that will be aggressive, poignant, and passionate?and this is only the beginning.

06.09.08 .:. Crunch Pod Welcomes Uberbyte To The Roster
UK sturm and drang stompers UBERBYTE rose from the ashes of the controversial industrial rock outfit Killing Miranda in late 2006. Newly rechristened with the enigmatic moniker "Uberman", KM's former vocalist quickly took Uberbyte to the stage, providing support to such heavy hitters as Hocico, The Cruxshadows, Panzer AG, KiEw, Die Krupps, XP8, and Faderhead, becoming an almost overnight sensation in the flourishing, revitalized UK industrial scene.
An appearance on the distinguished 2007 four-disc compilation ENDZEIT BUNKERTRACKS III for the club hit "Total War" pushed Uberbyte even further into the spotlight, with their fanbase dramatically increasing due to their energetic live performances (which have already taken them as far as Mexico), remixes for the likes of Leatherstrip, XP8, and Aesthetic Perfection , and grassroots local and international support.
Wasting no time, UBERBYTE will be releasing their debut CD SIC on the U.S. label CRUNCH POD, home of industrial upstarts such as CERVELLO ELETTRONICO, MANUFACTURA, C/A/T, and CAUSTIC. SIC's lean programming and infectious hooks keep one foot grounded in industrial's dance heyday of CUBANATE, LEATHER STRIP, and early :WUMPSCUT: while maintaining a keen eye on the future with influences such as GRENDEL and HOCICO. While comparisons can be made to today's current ebm/industrial fusions, none sound exactly like Uberbyte, and that demonstrates why they are on the rise. SIC is a head welding relentless rhythmic assault that will get stuck in your head for days to come.
People of the world, STAND UP FOR UBERBYTE!

04.08.08 .:. ADR Joins Crunch Pod
Alter Der Ruine, created in May 2005 by Mike Jenney, caused quite a stir in the Arizona industrial scene after their high-octane debut at Club Asylum in Tucson. Subsequent shows immediately followed, consisting of appearances at Arizona fetish events, various clubs, and the infamous Sadisco* gathering.
A.D.R. has opened for Imperative Reaction,Dismantled, Psyclon 9, Snog, Noise Terror, Still Life Decay, 45 Grave and more. The band's debut album, The Ruine Process, released in August 2006, secured their position as an up and coming artist in the industrial scene.
In late 2007 ADR released their second album State of Ruin, which became an instant success. It proved that they were a force that shouldn't be taken lightly and put them in the forefront as the future of industrial music. In support of "State of Ruin", ADR embarked upon a large North American tour with W.A.S.T.E., leaving a wake of destruction in each city they visited. ADR is currently in the studio working on their third album that will be released on Crunch Pod in Late 2008/ early 2009.

03.04.08 .:. New signing - Bitch Brigade
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Bitch Brigade was founded in 2006 by Agr1ppa Cry0fl3sh. Like most projects starting off, Bitch Brigade, was more of an experiment for Agr1ppa, but it has flourished into a strong up-and-comer in the scene.
Blending a mix of Power Noise, Industrial, and Electro pop she has developed a sound that is melodically haunting yet aggressive enough for fans of the harsh side of the musical spectrum. Bitch Brigade is also breaking new ground at Crunch Pod; it is the first all-female project on the label for us. Bitch Brigade's debut album will be released this summer on Crunch Pod.
